The Switch app is a real interesting one for me as I'd love to see how differently you all use it.  Having spent some time on the stand with Enfocus at Graphics Canada it is such a powerful tool.  It was great from my side of support as we rarely get to see this side of things as the software sites with you guys so we have no eyes on it to see what it does and behaves.

I'd love to jump on a short video call with the support team to see how you guys create workflows for your specific requirements - it would be hugely beneficial for us all to see how it works and give us more of an understanding of how you guys work too.

    Hi Duncan!

More than happy to show you how we're using Switch in the context of processing orders from Infigo.

I've developed some custom Switch apps to take Infigo order data and push it into some of our other systems (MIS, despatch management, etc.) and to listen to those other systems for status changes such as 'Shipped'. These status changes are then sent to Infigo which in turn triggers the relevant email - Order Shipped, Order Cancelled and so on.

    Hi all,

Switch is a very powerful out of the box automation tool, with additional modular elements to increase the unique customisation requirements each company/individual may need.

    HOW WE USE IT

We use Switch to route files to our various presses, print job tickets to office printers along with a host of bespoke flows for specific customers as well as flows for internal use to negate repetitive tasks.

    LESSONS LEARNT

We are primarily a Mac based studio, and although Switch is a cross platform software, there are a number of unique Mac/PC differences we encountered when setting up and creating flows which are not documented.

One example would be network paths. on a PC you can simply navigate across a multitude of devices on a network and select your required destination. However on Mac, the same navigation and destination selection is available but does not work. For your selected destination to be accepted a full written destination path needs to be input/typed in.

    ADVICE AND GUIDANCE

The best way to learn is to get stuck-in, fail and revisit your steps. After a few successes it all starts to make make sense and you’ll be on your way.

The Enfocus community board is wealth of knowledge on almost every topic/feature: https://forum.enfocus.com/index.php

    INFIGO CONNECT SWITCH

For a specific customer storefront we have recently moved away from Infigo Sync (aka Catfish Sync) to the new Infigo Connect Switch app which is native to Enfocus Switch.

A few pointers for anyone making the move:

    • The Infigo Connect Switch App requires Enfocus Switch version 2024 Spring or above to work.
    • When using the Jobs via Pooling operation mode, the storefront URL must include https:/www…
    • If you are not setting up a brand new storefront and are simply transitioning from Infigo Sync to Infigo Connect Switch, it is recommended to create a Print Location and Hot Folder in your Storefront’s Admin.

Hope the above proves helpful to someone.

    Hey Roger

Thanks so much for your feedback on this - These extra details provided are really great and we can feed these back to the wider infigo user base.  Thanks for taking the time to add these comments in!
