Embedded Widgets

Morning all,

Hope you’re well.

Quick question for the group. Do you use any embedded widgets on your storefronts to boost engagement or conversion? If you do, which ones have actually worked for you in the wild, and who’s your preferred service provider?

There is a wide range of SAAS providers, from no-code, pre-built templates you can personalise (e.g., Widg.io, Common Ninja, Clapso) through to more enterprise or fully custom UI/UX options (e.g., Widgetic, Ceros, OutSystems or in-house builds). We’ve seen widgets help lift ROI and conversion via things like sales funnels, chat agents, age verification, and data capture, but I’d really appreciate the groups insights into what worked for your business.

If you’re using widgets, what types have been most effective (product finders, quizzes, reviews, chat, age-gating, data capture, banners/funnels)? Which providers do you rate, and what impact have you seen on CVR/AOV/bounce? Any aspects you consider before implementing ie. performance/CLS, accessibility, GDPR/cookie consent?

If you’re not using widgets yet, is it on your radar? Which ideas do you think could genuinely improve engagement on your store?

Appreciate any insight on the above.

Kindest regards

Chris

    Hi Christian,

The most commonly 'embedded' tool that we see from our side is most definitely live chat / chat agents. We saw a B2C startup customer take over 80% of Y1 revenue via a live chat widget, by simply taking orders for products that werent actually 'available' / setup on the storefront at that time. Instead, they simply said 'yes' and then outsourced the manufacturing!

The next most popular would be review platforms; most commonly trustpilot.

I havent seen anyone doing any product finders or quizzes etc.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Many thanks
