After May's influx of new features and capabilities, June saw a slight shift towards less headline-grabbing, but equally as crucial improvements and fixes within the software. In addition, our development team continue to work on the next batch of headline features we hope to make available to you very soon.

In this edition of "What's New in Infigo", we'll highlight some of the key elements of our latest deployments.

Phone Number Validation

We have introduced a new setting called "Phone Number Validation Enabled" within Infigo's Customer Settings. This feature allows the system to verify the format of entered phone numbers using configurable regex patterns specific to each country.

To access this setting, navigate to Customer Settings > Billing and Delivery Address Configuration. Once enabled, Infigo will ensure that phone numbers entered by users adhere to the specified format based on the corresponding regex.

These changes impact various aspects of the software, including registration, my account pages, admin customer address book, checkout process, API customer import/update, and customer CSV import functionality.

Additional data displayed for production and delivery restrictions

Infigo have made additional descriptions available to administrators related to production restrictions and delivery restrictions as part of each order.

Before delving into these details, let's take a closer look at production restrictions and delivery restrictions within Infigo, using our playlist on the Infigo Academy. Access it here

The additional data we have made available to administrators (Accessed within the Order details) is aimed as making the restrictions easier to understand by administrators. A human-readable paragraph is generated with an order, explaining how related information has been calculated.

UPS Delivery - Additional data for admins

Additional delivery information has been made available when using UPS delivery methods. Administrators will now see additional text appearing next to the delivery method when placing an order on the front-end.

This information includes warnings retrieved from UPS for the chosen rates, and includes messages such as:

  • Additional handling has automatically been set on Package 1
  • Your invoice may vary from the displayed reference rates
  • Ship to Address classification is changed from Residential to Commercial

Note: This extra information will only be available if "Manage Shipping" is active in the Access Control List (ACL) of the platform. General users will not see these details.

Access Permissions - More intuitive "All" targeting

Infigo have introduced significant improvements to Access Permission targeting, particularly when targeting all items such as products or categories. Our goal was to make the process more intuitive and user-friendly, ensuring a smoother experience for our valued users. Here are the key enhancements:

Targets Page:

  1. Introducing the "All" Target Option: We have added a new target option called "All," which allows you to target all products, categories, or any other relevant items. By selecting this option, all target dropdown menus (e.g., Product/Category/...) will be removed, streamlining the process.

  2. Removal of [None] Option: We have eliminated the [None] option from all Dropdown Targets (Product/Category..), simplifying the interface and reducing clutter.

Scope Page:

  1. "All Customers" Checkbox: A new checkbox labeled "All Customers" has been added under "Scope Name." When enabled, this option hides all other selections on the page, enhancing focus and clarity.

  2. Field Clearing on Save: When the "All Customers" checkbox is enabled and you perform a "Save" action, all fields will be automatically cleared, ensuring a clean slate for your targeting preferences.

Feature of the month

In this section, we'll take a look at one of Infigo's existing, but lesser known, features. This time, it's the turn of Chameleon!

Chameleon is an additional Infigo module allowing you to change the look and feel of an Infigo storefront, depending on the user viewing that storefront.

Chameleon allows you, for example, to change the logo, text and layout of your site based on the viewer.

The main use case for Chameleon is to provide a personalised experience to your smaller customers, who may not warrant their own dedicated, personalised storefront.
